Bead Embroidery Reviews
The English translation is excellent in this book and the pictures all in color show everything (actual stitching with the beads) full size. After the introductory material on beads, threads, etc, she begins with the most basic stitches arranged in family groups. There are line stitches, filling stitches, looped, detached and variations including sequins and flowers. The book is great for embroidery on any material including knit fabric but it is also a good starting point for making jewelry that involves embroidery with beads. There are no projects except for the cover sampler. Some of the stitches included are: outline, couching, satin, long and short, fishbone, rose, petal, lazy daisy, chain, fly, feather, twisted chain, leaf, raised stitches, etc. The binding seems pretty sturdy and the print is also good size. Highly recommended.
If you're looking for a book to give you lots of great examples and ideas, this is a wonderful reference to use to help you create your own designs. Too many books have projects, not examples and techniques. I don't want to copy someone else's project, I want to see how to make the basics really well so that I can create my own projects! This book is GREAT for stimulating creativity.
Love this book. This is a small book with only 40 pages, but the pictures and instructions are very clear. Lots of interesting ideas in regards to the shapes of the beads and how to use them in a design. It is not a project book, but well worth buying.
Beautiful Book with detailed stitching guide....while some of the stitches are the typical embroidery, this is wonderful with both design ideas and the way of attaching some of the beads.....happy with purchase :)
Beautiful photos of bead embroidery. Good for a beginner - I was looking for a more advanced book, though. If you are new to embroidery or want good illustrations of basic stitches, this book is great. As an experienced stitcher, it was not as advanced as I had hoped.
What a nifty little book! Beautiful templates are included, as well as step-by step instructions on how to create the stitches.
This book is just jam packed from cover to end with beautiful, realistic, and useful, Beaded embroidery componets and ideas... Yukiko Ogura has wonderful information, tips and step by step pictures. Beautiful book to have .
Great step-by-step color photos will make this a go to for adding bead embroidery to any project.
