No More Biting for Billy Goat! (Ducky and Piggy) Reviews
I am the mother of a biter, and I bought this and several other books because I was out of ideas. My daughter knows biting is wrong, she knows it hurts her friends, she knows to use her words instead, etc., but she still bites at times. She loved this book and it was like the story finally made her look at her biting from a different perspective (considering how it makes her friends feel, beyond the physical "ouch" reaction to a bite). Since we started reading this book, she hasn't had any incidents. Might be a coincidence, but when she plays with her dolls and one "bites" another, I do hear her telling the offender that the other dolls won't want to play with her anymore if she continues to bite, and that's a new concept for her (thanks to this story).
Got this for my almost-2 year old after having some issues with her biting friends at daycare. It's not a bad book (not annoying, boring, etc for me) and she likes it ok but I don't know that it really helped our cause. Certainly didn't hurt though. Also, I just can't get over that the billy goat looks more like a rabbit than a goat. Dear illustrator: goats don't have upper incisors!!
Great book for a child who bites!
This book is kind of "meh". My son never really liked reading it, just sits on the shelf.
She's not biting anymore so I'd say our little two year old gets it's not a good thing! :)
Having a 2 year old that is a chronic biter we have tired a lot of different stuff. I really enjoyed Teeth are not for Biting and Little Dinos Don't Bite. This book is a bit more advanced that those two and has an actual story. One this I like is that it give kids with social anxiety some ideas on how to better handle situations with other kids.
This is a good book if your child is biting out of frustration or anger. Unfortunately my toddler is biting for other reasons which are not covered in this book. It does get across that biting hurts, and my prove partially useful for my family.
Rally cute and easy to understand. Helped with my son's biting problem quite a bit. All in all I loved the book.
