Green Start Giant Floor Puzzles: Number Hunt (35 Piece Floor Puzzles Made of 98% Recycled Materials) Reviews
Nice floor puzzle.
Although I can see the potential for this puzzle to be warped, mine luckily was not. It is a cute puzzle, but I think I need to go on a short rant about the entire concept of floor puzzles. My 2 1/2 year old is pretty good at small jigsaw puzzles but struggles immensely with these larger floor puzzles. I think most people think they are easier because the pieces are bigger. The large size, however, makes them very hard to visualize during construction. For a 2 1/2 year old the scale of these is immense and quite intimidating. He has made the puzzle a few times with my help and he is generally happy when he finishes it, but it is much more of an ordeal than when he happily works on a smaller jigsaw puzzle on his own.
Great Puzzle, large pieces that are easy to put together. My son is 3 and loves puzzles and counting so this was a great fit. The only criticism would be that the graphic layer is a bit thin and can peel we have had to glue a few pieces.
The good thing about this is that it is eco friendly and recycled. The picture is cute, the numbers and counting are nice. I am always happy to find a puzzle without a commercial character on it. Now for the bad: The worst thing about this is the box. When I opened it, the sides ripped, so it's virtually unusable. I taped it, but the pieces are too big. They barely fit back in. My child cannot clean this puzzle up himself, so I have to do it, and it ends up hanging out of the box, looking messy on the shelf. What a horrible toy! For that reason alone I hate it. I also don't like that the pieces are so big. It's too difficult to handle and to find space on the floor to complete without sitting on pieces, etc. My 3.5 year old gave up on this puzzle and only finished it with my cajoling. He doesn't want to play with it. I have to store it in a plastic bag, which is not attractive. I may end up donating this.
The puzzles are cute but flawed. The puzzles don't lie flat because the pieces are curled upwards. I won't be buying this brand again. Tree hugging has gone too far on this one.
My son loved this!
