What Is God Like? (Little Blessings) Reviews
I just love the Little Blessings books that I purchased from Amazon. The other one I have is "Who is Jesus?", and this one did not disappoint. I am so glad I took a risk buying both books, even if I was only able to view a few pages online using the "Click to Look Inside". I like the format of this book - the first part showing simple but legitimate questions asked by a child about God; the second part being God's answer (based on the bible); and the third providing bible references to these answers.
I absolutely love the Little Blessings books. Before I had a child of my own, I did a ton of babysitting for others. One little boy that I sat for had these books. I loved reading them to him. He really enjoyed these stories and better yet, they teach you about the Lord and what He's all about. They have ones that explain prayer, the cross, about God, about Jesus, about Heaven, and about Angels, etc. Not only do the kids learn, but you pick up things as well. All information in the book comes from verses in the Bible. The book answers many questions that you or your child may have concerning God or Jesus or how to pray. I bought almost everyone of these books to read to my son. I hope that he will be as enthusiastic as others were. Plus, they rhyme and what kid doesn't like rhyming books? It's a great way to spend quality time with your little one. I totally recommend purchasing these books.
The book starts with a number of questions kids have about God and who He is then answers are given based on scriptural truths but is written as if God is answering. I felt the number of questions were at a better length than in the book Who Made the World? but I still feel it could have been a little shorter. Loved the answer section especially how He loves is forever and can never be separate from him and what His voice sounds like = ) Overall, pleased... and artwork is great.
Love this book. Captures the exact questions my 3 & 4 year olds are asking about God in language that is so accessible. And at the end there are scripture references that it gives for each response! I also love that there is diversity represented in the children in the book. Allows my children to know that people of all shades, races, and cultures are loved by God.
Kathleen Bostrom is a wonderful children's author. She explains Christian faith in terms children understand. All of her Little Blessings contributions are brilliantly done.
Great book asking the questions about God that your young of one of 4-6 might ask. Tell then book gives the responses from God. Very well done. Very easy to understand. Nothing to deep. The author has kept this very simple with great illustrations.
My favorite children's book for explaining what God is like. This is an amazing book that I recommend for your children, grandchildren, and baby shower gifts.
Wish I'd had this series when my own sons were young. Bostrom nails this genre with her two-part format of sound theology told in clever verse backed up with a section that follows of Bible verses to support her assertions. The art work is a joy as well. Little Blessings can be read and re-read time and again with little ones who are asking spiritual questions adults stumble over. Good insights and clear answers.
