Classic Led Zeppelin III & IV (Bass Tab) Reviews
Yes, I used this book to learn 'When The Levee Breaks'. The bass clef music is very accurate. The tablature is tchnically accurate but the fret positions were obviously not chosen by a real bass player. For example some eighth notes go from fret 3 to fret 9 (You can only cover 4 frets with the 4 fingers of your hand). One would have hoped that the publisher cared enough to have the tunes 'beta -tested' by a real musician, but no. However, since every such book I've ever used has the same defect, I'm not faulting the rating for it.
Great teaching tool.
Quite an impressive set of music. A few bends missing here and there, but shockingly, half of the key signatures are wrong. The notes are right, but they've just thrown a random key signature at the front of half the pieces. Super annoying and makes you doubt the quality of the overall work. Rock and Roll in D?? Haha. You can just ignore it of course..but bad form!
Does exactly what it says on the tin. If you want to play John Paul Jones' bass lines from III or IV, this is the book for you. Has both notation and tab, so it'll work great for you even if you can't read music. Overall I'm well satisfied and got exactly as much out of this book as expected.
