Detroit '67 Reviews
This is a play-write by Dominique Morisseau describing the 67' Detroit riot. Below in the picture you can see the 93 long page book. It would be really great if they had this book in our younger school kid generations English literature book as I was never taught about the 1967 Detroit riots. I guess if white people were not affected or the cops couldn't control the situation then it's just hush hush under the rug. Needless to say it is exciting and interesting enough and not too long to keep the readers attention. I got this as a private study into the Detroit 67' riots.
Very good play. I felt I was part of the action when reading. I was born and raised in Detroit. I lived on 33rd street near Michigan ave. I was there during the 67 riots. Dominique Morisseau tells a lot more truth than fiction in this play about the 67 riots. The Detroit police Big Four! Now that's another story that's needs to be written.
Great play. It was recommended to me to use for monologues and I am happy to have it.
I love everything Dominique puts down on paper, and brings to life.
That and more. It prepared me for my audition and I was offered the part of Lank and we open in a few months. Thanks so much for your speedy delivery and mad love to Domonique for such an amazing piece that speaks to my Detroit heart and reset my love for the city.
A very good play. It's a must read.
