Daniel Finds a Poem Reviews
A sweet story this daycare owner loves. Daniel explores nature and finds poetry in the beauty around him. The illustrations are stunning as is the message. Love this book
Great little book. I read to my fifth graders and then took them for a nature walk. They journaled as they walked and then wrote the most amazing, insightful open verse poems on their own. Lovely!
I LOVE this story -- that every one of us can become a poet by paying attention to the world around us. It has a subtle and powerful rhythm and each page is a beautiful experience. I'm certain that children will want to have it read to them again and again from a very early age.
This had become one of my son's favorite books. I also don't tire of reading it to him. You will like it too.
Sweet simple story with beautiful illustrations. Currently, this is one of my 3 year old's favorite bed time books.
My grand nephew gave this 2 thumbs up.
The illustrations & story are lovely.
The illustrations in this book are beautiful. My daughter and I particularly loved the picture of a chipmunk. It looked so real you could almost feel its soft fur. We also spent some time looking at the artist's unique rendition of pond water, so clever and beautiful. The words of this book are beautiful as well. A small boy goes to a park and asks different animal he meets, "What is poetry?" Each gives him a different idea that he puts together into one beautiful poem. We enjoyed is book. It is a very quick little read that appealed to my first grader and I suspect younger children will enjoy it as well.
