I love Aesop's fables and Now my daughter and granddaughter can enjoy the stories and lessons to be learned from the stories in the book. Not everything ends happily ever after and we know this to be true. Definitely its a fun read and makes you think on certain actions. Good common sense to be learned within these great short stories.

Just what I wanted; nostalgic illustrations; quaint, short & sweet re-tellings of all the fables.

I bought this for my 5 year old daughter thinking they would be good stories for her. I think she is too young for them but I think it will be great when she's older.

I have read the fables when I was a kid and loved it. I bought this for my son and he started reading it. I give it a 4 stars because I thought it contained less illustrations than the description. Overall this is a great book for young readers

I had to knock off a star because this collection does not have the complete fables. There are more fables than are in this book. It is a nice book but if you truly want the complete fables you have to look elsewhere.

I loved this book as a kid so I sent it to my grandbabies for night time reading. I expect my children will also receive good lessons as they read to their kids! Lessons for all ages!!

While I happened to be shopping at Barnes & Noble, I did a little comparing and this version to me, is worth the extra dollar. Although it bears less illustration in contrast with the Barnes & Noble edition, it's certainly contains the most of fables. I'll probably end up buying the Barnes and Noble edition as well.

Beautiful translations of still valuable examples of living in a society. I strongly recommend it to all young and not so young.
